Welcome to Soundtrack Month

Soundtrack Month Theme Month Introduction

Summer is the season of blockbusters. For those of us at Strange Currencies, that makes it the perfect time for “Soundtrack Month.” All throughout July, our writing staff will be taking a look at the art of the soundtrack – not only those from films, but of television series and video games as well. In the spirit of our previous “theme months,” these pieces will find us approaching soundtracks from the perspective of fans, critics, collectors, and musicians. There’s no unifying project this time – a la our collaborative Beatles Top 100 Songs list – but these articles are joined in spirit, through our shared love for the combination of “sound and vision.”

Join Strange Currencies this month, as we celebrate old favorites, anoint new classics, and discuss the power of music to elevate the mundane to the sublime.
